Problem Solvers


Problem Solvers is aimed at meeting clients’ emergency and non-emergency needs. Our goal is to build client relationships and aid them in a self-identification process of taking the necessary steps to transition out of homelessness. When our Program Associates meet with clients, they focus on meeting one need at a time.

Services Include:

Clothing: SHO provides clean and comfortable clothing to those in need.

Mail Services: Homeless individuals are provided a secure Post Office Box.

Medical Services: Through a partnership with faculty members and students attending Georgia State University’s School of Nursing, basic medical services, including foot maintenance and blood pressure screening, is offered twice each week.

Shelter from Elements: SHO is a Warming Center that welcomes the homeless whenever the temperature drops below 45%. If it is raining outside, SHO affords guests a dry and safe place to stay, with restroom facilities.

Referrals: SHO makes referrals to other social service organizations to include medical or psychological, shelters, ID’s and other documentation so that they are able to apply for public assistance.
